"Why me?" he asked plainly, shoving some books in his locker. "My brother is better at stuff like that than I am. Why not ask him to teach you Italian?"
"Uh," you blushed nervously. "Well, I kinda wanted you to teach me..." You saw Lovino blush too.
"Fine," he said, turning away. "Meet me in the library after school."
You sat down at a study table in the library, waiting for Lovino to arrive. You got out a notebook and a pencil. You'd been wanting to learn Italian for a couple years, you just never got around to it. Plus, after you met Lovino... well, that was all the more reason to learn. Lovino and his younger brother moved to (country you're from) about a year ago, from Italy. You had a major crush on Lovino.
After a couple minutes of waiting, Lovino walked up to your table and sat down across from you, dropping his backpack carelessly on the ground next to him.
"You have a notebook and everything? God, you're serious about learning Italian, ragazza."
"Si, I've been wanting to learn for a while," you confessed to him, smiling. There was some awkward silence after that-- you could tell he wasn't used to teaching.
"So, uh, (Name), what do you want to start with?" He said, his facing getting a bit red.
"How about the basics?"
"Well, you seem to already know how to say 'yes'," he muttered, taking your notebook. He wrote some words down on the lined pages. He gave it back to you. "Try saying these."
"Buon giorno," you read. "Is that good morning?" He nodded, motioning for you to try the next one. "'Ciao', goodbye, right?" You knew that one for sure.
He took the notebook again, thought for a moment, and wrote some more words down. You went through about two pages of phrases in your notebook before you looked at the clock. The library was about to close for the day. You both decided to end there for the day.
"Lovino, one last phrase," you said as he stood up.
"What?"
"Como si dice 'I love you' in italiano?1" you asked, feeling your face get hot.
"Uh, it's 'ti amo'," he said, scratching the back of his head nervously.
"Ti amo, Lovino," you said, smiling and blushing. He stood there for a few moments, face getting redder and redder.
"Ti amo anche2," he muttered, quickly planting a small kiss on your cheek before hurrying away.
